dis—placed magazine intends to study the subject of not belonging anywhere and being separated from something. It may be ourselves, our country, our roots or even the persona constructed in our own minds.
We aim to feature artists that have something to say about the subject with the hope of creating a platform that may well serve to explain the feeling of not feeling like a whole, feeling like we’re only part here and trying to understand where do we actually fit in today’s societal enmeshments.
Just like the world we live in, we intend to showcase work that values a tapestry of colour and self-expression, as well as a mixture of cultures and identities within the spectrum. We value location and landscape, as well as hue and saturation as the world is a marvellous mixture of it all and is indeed filled with tones worth capturing.
